Shelly is the manager of the Weighing In program at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, building community collaboration to prevent childhood obesity through the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Her work includes leading the Healthy Lifestyles Initiative (HLI) which engages partners in healthcare, government, and community working to create environments that support health; supporting multiple sectors of the Kansas City Physical Activity plan; and providing oversight and direction for the Children’s Mercy Community Garden.
